Fiberlink Hosts Eastern Technology Council Event on Protecting Mobile Devices from Hackers, Offers Best Practices Guide

WHAT:  Fiberlink and the Eastern Technology Council present a demonstration called “Hacking the Mobile Workforce.” Fiberlink will show how a hacker can gain access to a corporate laptop, bypassing anti-virus and firewall protection.  Once inside, the hacker has full access to the corporate network, and can steal confidential information and destroy sensitive and valuable company assets.

Today, companies must simultaneously empower employees with mobile technology for increased productivity and protect the corporate network from a barrage of threats.

Barry Porozni, chief technical officer of Fiberlink, will reveal best practices on how to proactively protect the mobile devices that are used to connect back to the corporate network.

WHO:  As the chief technical officer at Fiberlink, Porozni has been instrumental in creating Fiberlink's proprietary technology. Porozni oversees customer service, infrastructure and systems delivery functions. Before joining Fiberlink in 1994, he was the Information Technology Architect at Enbridge (formerly Interprovincial Pipeline), responsible for defining the IT systems architecture.

The demonstration will be conducted by Fiberlink’s expert, ethical, “white hat” hacker Daniel Hoffman.  Hoffman, a Fiberlink senior systems engineer (CISSP, CWNA, CEH), has over 12 years of hands-on remote access security knowledge and expertise. His depth of experience brings reality and education to his well-known hacking demonstrations.
