As with companies in other industries, construction and contracting companies should ensure that the use of smartphones and tablets is accompanied by a mobile device management solutions, according to a new report from Constructech.

In fact, the news provider encouraged organizations within the industry to get ahead of the enterprise mobility trend by devising policies and strategies for leveraging devices.

"Given the multiple different devices that will more than likely be in demand … by your employees, the multiple mobile operating systems … it might be best to start planning now for a better way to apply a strategy around your mobile initiative for the future," the report stated.

Furthermore, it's more than likely, given demand, that mobility will impact a wide range of employees. To ensure the needs of all are accounted for, construction companies should involve all aspects of the organization when devising a plan.

Mobility continues to spread like wildfire as companies expand their deployments by investing more resources. According to a recent In-Stat report, spending on voice, messaging and data plans will increase 37 percent for the average company during the next four years.
