Enterprise mobility can transform an organization

Through the introduction of smartphones and tablets, companies around the world can expect an organizational transformation that will breed more productive employees and increase the efficiency of business processes, according to a recent SME Web report.

IT budgets are returning to pre-recession levels and many chief information officers are looking for means to return businesses to growth paths. For many, according to the report, that means investing in smartphones and implementing a mobile device management policy.

"As budgets return CIOs are increasingly looking to free-up IT resources and re-focus their efforts from maintenance and management to strategy and planning in order to use IT to offer a competitive business advantage," the report stated.

SME Web also warned against the dangers of ignoring mobility. Doing so, it stated, will keep a company from being counted among those "that will succeed in tomorrow’s economy."

Small- and medium-sized businesses are already embracing mobility, judging by two recent surveys. Techaisle revealed that 81 percent of such companies are utilizing mobile devices, while a separate report from the Business Journals placed the figure at 71 percent of small companies.
