Windows 8: Where Will Modern Take You? - Webinar - October 25, 2012

    25 October 2012 (Last edited: 26 October 2012)

The technology community has anxiously awaited the next wave of Microsoft operating systems with Windows 8 - and this time, we've got company. The traditionally PC-centric software is now packing the cross platform Modern interface in attempt to bridge the smartphone, tablet, PC device operability chasm.

It remains to be seen how a security conscious, Defender-equipped MS family will adapt to today's cyber-threat cognizant enterprise community, and what technology can be used to manage the devices aimed for its doors. Join Frank Schloendorn, Mobile MaaSter of Microsoft, for this fall's feature webinar and learn what's in store with each device type:

    • Peering through different Windows: a glance at the new OS on each device
    • Techniques for collaborating between tablets, smartphones and PCs
    • Security considerations with new devices arriving on scene

Do you guys have any idea how to do tile management in Windows 8?  I want to create an image for our company and remove certain tiles, like say, the People app.  However when a new user logs in, the tiles in the start screen re-appear even though I've uninstalled them in the Administrator profile.  There must be a way to control this for ALL users.  Thanks for your help!

Hey Ryan, great question. Here are some resources I've found that will help you manage tiles for your company:

Click here to learn about resizing, enlarging, enabling/disabling live updates, and deep linking.

This page will help you learn how to access a startup folder in Windows 8.

    Hope this helps!
