Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Employees are bringing their own iPhones, iPads and Androids to work at an unprecedented rate. To the disappointment of many, there is no one-size-fits-all method to address end-user privacy and network security concerns. Use this forum to discuss how you’ll beat devices to the door with a well-founded BYOD policy.

    MaaS360 updates on iPhone

During the installation of MaaS a different apple id was used from what the client is currently using.  Now, when processing the updates for MaaS it is requiring the password for the original apple id.  Can you change this to the new apple id?

No More Reason to Wait, the iPhone 4S Hits the Shelves Today!

    14 October 2011 (Last edited 14 June 2012)

iOS 5 has been unveiled and the iPhone 4S will be available for it users today.  This is the first iPhone release by Apple this fall and the pre-order sales numbers are very impressive. Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 4S pre-orders have touched one million in a single day, leaving behind the iPhone 4 pre-orders sales record and also, the most for any Apple product ever! I believe, the iPhone 4S is already a huge hit.

Save Time by Adding Web Clips to Your iPhone's Home Screen

    7 October 2011 (Last edited 14 June 2012)
    3157 Views | 1 Replies
Quick access is part of what makes mobile apps so great for productivity. You are always 1 touch away via your homescreen. Did you know you can make app-like shortcuts to all of your favorite websites? It may sound trivial, but it's better than waiting for your Safari app to load only to then look through your bookmarks list for the website you want to navigate to. Why not go straight to the website from your home screen? Here's how it works:
1.) Open Safari and type in the URL for your favorite website:
2.) Once the webpage has loaded, tap the screen once. Press the "Go To" button at the bottom center of the screen:
3.) Press Add to Home Screen
4.) Give your shortcut a name (this will appear below the web clip on your homescreen; make sure it's not too long)
5.) There you have it. The web clip will be on your home screen for easy access whenever you need it. Note: Similar to apps on the home screen, web clips can be quickly removed simply by pressing down, holding, then clicking the encircled X that appears in the top left of the app.

    Impressions From Google I/O 2011

For me the biggest takeaway from the software developers conference Google I/O 2011 was the incredible variety of ways developers are using Android to accomplish new and interesting (or sometimes not so interesting) tasks.  A sampling of the announcements from the Android keynote address helps to illustrate the wide variety of Android uses available today and in the near future.

Xoomin Along! My first few days with the Motorola Xoom

    2 March 2011 (Last edited 14 June 2012)

When I had caught word that Motorola was coming out with a tablet comparable to the iPad, I couldn't wait to see what it was all about.  I have the Motorola Droid X and I love it!  I have been wanting to get an Android tablet for a while now but was waiting for one with a 10.1 screen and just wasn't impressed with the Galaxy Tab.  Since everything just seems to work on my Droid X and I had received the 2.2 update only a few weeks after I purchased it, while many of my colleagues were still waiting 6 months later on other devices and carriers, getting a tablet from Motorola just made sense.
