Employees started bringing their own devices to work and IT began supporting them … but the number of devices in the workplace steadily increased and it became more difficult for IT to secure the data. Sound familiar?
Mike Clancy, VP Information Technology of SIHO Insurance Services, is here to tell you how they managed the onset of BYOD in a regulated industry. He discusses the search for a solution that can support volume, provide visibility and comply with HIPAA regulations.
BYOD expert Jonathan Dale from Fiberlink and Chris Hazelton from 451 Research join the conversation to discuss how you can accomplish your goals and overcome the challenges associated with BYOD. You’ll hear about some real life BYOD success stories backed by numbers and results.

BYOD symbolizes everything from dual persona and container technology to virtualization, and success is measured by adoption, however your company defines it. But what is the adoption threshold that needs to be reached in order to make it successful? And what are the key requirements of a BYOD program that ensure success?

As the rising tide of mobility reaches enterprise shores, IT is rushing to keep its mobile users productive and corporate data secure underneath one umbrella. With a proper device and app management solution in place, it's possible to keep a watchful eye on your mobile environment and intervene only when necessary. However, without someone to survey the scene, there's no sure way to shape the right mobile strategy for all your users.

While Apple and Google battle to become the world's most preferred mobile platform, MS Surface has already made its presence known in BYOD-friendly work environments. Time will tell whether last month's BlackBerry 10 release will be enough to rethrone the former king of the mobile enterprise. No matter who comes out on top, IT must prepare for the whole lot, as Gartner, Inc. predicts 1.2 billion smart devices will be purchased in the year ahead.

BYOD and the Retail Sales Setting

I've seen the BYOD concept really coming about particularly in regards to sales people. Mobile devices seem to be the best fit for these individuals. Obviously the majority of sales people are always on the go, and the bring your own device phenomenon has allowed them to be productive on the road. Individuals seem to be more comfortable with their own device, and they can put the apps they most desire on the device to be as productive as possible.
