Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Employees are bringing their own iPhones, iPads and Androids to work at an unprecedented rate. To the disappointment of many, there is no one-size-fits-all method to address end-user privacy and network security concerns. Use this forum to discuss how you’ll beat devices to the door with a well-founded BYOD policy.

Help! I lost my iPad (or other Mobile Device)

    11 June 2010 (Last edited: 14 June 2012)

One of the issues facing businesses today is the management of mobile devices.  Those who own an iPad or iPhone know all to much how easy it is to create a Microsoft Exchange mailbox and synchronize to your corporate mail servers.

Microsoft Office Outlook Express provides a way to manage your mobile device.

    1.  Log into Microsoft Office Outlook Express from any computer

    2.  Click Options in the top right hand corner

    3.  Click Mobile Devices under the Options panel on the left, the following options will appear

There are 4 options for mobile device management

    • Remove Device from List…
    • Wipe All data from Device…
    • Display Recovery Password
    • Retrieve Log…
These options may be helpful if you wish to remove a device that no longer is in use, forget your password or worse case scenario, lose the device or have it stolen, initiate a remote wipe to protect your information.
