This managed service uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the security protocol found in all standard Web browsers. Many Web-enabled applications can communicate securely without any specialized software on the remote system, which reduces software deployment, desktop support and ongoing maintenance costs.

For environments that require the layer-3 access feature of Fiberlink's Managed SSL VPN, the client software (Network Connect) can be deployed dynamically during the SSL session, or through pre-installation of the software.
