Fiberlink Takes the Stage at Ziff Davis Enterprise Security Summits
BLUE BELL, Pa., Nov. 28, 2007 –
Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the trusted expert for simple, secure
mobile working, today announced that Daniel V. Hoffman, Fiberlink senior systems engineer, will
participate in a panel discussion on data loss prevention and lead a breakout session on using and
implementing NAC technology effectively at this year’s Ziff Davis Security
Summits.
The Ziff Davis Enterprise Fall Security Summits are hosted by eWEEK, Baseline and CIO Insight publications. These summits offer insights and strategies leading CIOs, CTOs, CSOs and senior security IT decision-makers need to create the next-generation enterprise security infrastructure. The first summit is scheduled for Nov. 28 in Dallas, TX. The second event is scheduled for Dec. 5 in Palo Alto, Calif. Dan Hoffman will be a panel participant and breakout session leader at both Ziff Davis Security Summits. Hoffman’s panel discussion “Lost Laptops, Clueless Employees and Plugging Data Leakages” will focus on how corporate IT departments can create stronger, better-enforced IT risk management policies, and employ educational efforts and internal controls to help mitigate the risk posed to corporate information security by employees. Hoffman will also lead a breakout session titled “Network Access Control: Should You Get the NAC?” that will focus on NAC as an essential part of a company’s security infrastructure. Hoffman will review the basic concept behind NAC, how NAC can be implemented, the misconceptions around what NAC can and cannot do, and the network vulnerabilities NAC mitigates. In addition to participating in the Ziff Davis event, Hoffman was recently interviewed for a podcast piece by a Ziff Davis property, eWEEK, about Fiberlink’s concept of the mobile blind spot. In this piece Hoffman discusses what steps IT managers should take to ensure the security of sensitive data stored on a mobile device such as a laptop. They also sponsor and organize industry seminars, conferences, and newsletters for IT professionals. Fiberlink Mobile NAC™ streamlines the management of endpoint security applications and access services for mobile workers and provides IT with a management dashboard that offers granular visibility into the security compliance posture of corporate laptops.
