Fluor Finds Flexibility and Security with MaaS360

Challenge:
Fluor Corporation needed a solution that would provided much needed security without encumbering its 13,000 employees in some of the most remote locations in the world. Even occasional failures to reach corporate resources could have a serious impact on the engineers, consultants managers and sales people at customer locations.

Solution:
Fiberlink’s MaaS360 Platform gave Fluor the security it needed by monitoring the status of security applications on mobile and remote computers and taking action, if necessary, when the devices were out of compliance.

Fiberlink’s managed VPN services helped Fluor dramatically expand its use of SSL VPN technology, which provides for secure communications over the Internet with much lower support requirements than traditional IPSec VPN technology.

Results:
Fluor has implemented effective network access control with far less cost and effort than other NAC solutions. Employees have communicated that the new SSL VPN infrastructure is much more stable and reliable than the previous solution.

When many employees downloaded an OS service pack that was incompatible with Fluor’s VPN software, the MaaS360 Platform reports were able to identify those employees so the IT staff could address the problem.

The third party service vendor who has been supporting Fluor’s remote access systems has been able to significantly reduce their staff, which will result in increased savings for Fluor when the contract is renewed.
